If you are no longer in full time employment and live in Sevenoaks or the surrounding area, we can offer you the opportunity to participate in a wide range of enjoyable social, mental and physical activities. Our membership has grown to over 750 since we were founded in 1994 and new members are always welcome.

Theatre Visits Group
Our most recent visit was to a performance at the Hever outdoor theatre to see the Edenbridge Players in Abigail’s Party. Many of us had seen previous productions, including the original cast with Alison Steadman, and this production was excellent, bringing back good memories. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed a sunny but not overly hot afternoon. Some of us took advantage of the grounds afterwards to have an early-evening drink.
Galleries Group
In July we visited the extensive James McNeil Whistler exhibition at Tate Britain. Our September visit to the super Schiaparelli exhibition at the V & A was a revelation. Not only innovative and still wearable designs – her lobster dress designed in collaboration with Salvador Dali in 1937, first worn by Wallis Simpson, seems to have inspired designers today. Our next visit in October will be to the Anish Kapoor at The Hayward Gallery.
It's time for tea!
One of the highlights of our monthly meeting is the chance to talk to fellow u3a members over tea and cake at the end. This cannot happen, however, without our wonderful team of volunteers in the kitchen. If you'd be willing to help with making tea and serving, it's a great way to get to know more people and you'd only be asked to do it once a year. Interested in all things European?
Europe Today is small, friendly group of people who meet on the second Friday of each month to discuss a wide range of topics, usually starting with news and current affairs. They try to make their presentations interesting, but also with elements of humour and levity! Click the link to find out more.

Art - Painting 2
This new group has been meeting in Sevenoaks on the 1st and 3rd Thursday mornings each month. It is now well established with a mix of ability from beginners to accomplished amateur artists. They share tips and techniques in a friendly and supportive atmosphere and would welcome new members.
Local History Studies
We have had a lot of interest shown in starting up this new group. Meetings will take place on the afternoon of the first Tuesday of the month at Sevenoaks Library. If you'd like to join us, or just to find out more, please email localstudies@sevenoaksu3a.org.uk.

MEETINGS AND OTHER EVENTS
The Monthly General Meeting is an open meeting, which all members of Sevenoaks u3a may attend. It offers a chance to meet others, hear a speaker who is an expert in a subject of general interest, as well as enjoy refreshments. There are other open meetings each month, details of which can be found on the Open Groups page. National u3a runs a regular programme of Online Events which are free to attend.
