If you are no longer in full time employment and live in Sevenoaks or the surrounding area, we can offer you the opportunity to participate in a wide range of enjoyable social, mental and physical activities.  Our membership has grown to over 750 since we were founded in 1994 and new members are always welcome.

A Day Out at the Fair

Over 40 organisations, including our own, took part in the Health & Wellness Fair on the Vine in late May. On a fine day, we had a great time meeting friends, potential members and the Town Crier. A big thank you to all those who helped represent us on the day.

The Shetland Bus

Our speaker at May’s Monthly Meeting, Gilly Halcrow, brought to life the heroic and chilling story of this little-known secret WW II operation linking Shetland, Scotland and German-occupied Norway.

AI IN ACTION

The Sevenoaks u3a Science Group held this seminar at The Orchard Centre, East Malling on 4 June. The 100 attendees, from a number of u3as across Kent as well as Sevenoaks, engaged in a lively discussion of the opportunities, benefits and the potential dangers of AI both now and in the future.

Preventing fires!

At their May meeting the Science Open Group heard from the Kent Fire Investigation Service about the cause of fires in domestic environments and measures to reduce the risks.

Science activities at Sevenoaks u3a continue to flourish, offering members an engaging mix of talks, visits, and hands‑on exploration.

MEETINGS AND OTHER EVENTS

The Monthly General Meeting is an open meeting, which all members of Sevenoaks u3a may attend.  It offers a chance to meet others, hear a speaker who is an expert in a subject of general interest, as well as enjoy refreshments.  There are other open meetings each month, details of which can be found on the Open Groups page. National u3a runs a regular programme of Online Events which are free to attend.
