Reading plays aloud and discussing them is almost as good as live theatre. Is this something you’d like to do? From Shakespeare to Stoppard, Chekhov to Churchill (Caryl, not Winston), the range and subject matter is vast. National u3a has a good selection of one-act plays available to download for free, so you wouldn’t have to invest in buying books.
