We ride every two weeks on a Tuesday or Wednesday around Kent and the surrounding area, typically 25-35 miles with unmissable coffee and lunch stops! We also like to arrange an away trip once a year. Electric and solely pedal powered bikes are both welcome, mixed men and women of all levels.
It is open to members of any u3a and new members are welcome. u3a members are covered by the u3a insurance for third party liability.
Patrick Pascall
After leading the u3a Cycling Group for the past ten years Patrick has reluctantly decided to hang up his cycle clips, dispense with his lycra and retire. Patick was one of four founder members who set off on the group’s inaugural ride in February 2011, famously remembered for being stranded with a puncture (Patricks!) on top of the North Downs with the weather worsening and the skies darkening. Happily all survived to ride another day!
As a result of Patrick’s wise and efficient leadership, group membership has risen to over 20 members with a mix of both electric and mechanical bikes. Thanks to Patrick the group is established to provide both physical and social benefits to members and continues to grow from strength to strength. He will be missed, but hopefully join the group for the odd pub lunch.
