The snooker group continues to meet twice a month at our venue in Swanley. The membership is limited by only having up to 5 tables available, so while we are theoretically up to strength, I appreciate that we need to see younger members coming through. Currently we have no lady members playing (we have 2 or 3 in the past) so if there any ladies who have had a little experience of playing snooker in the past and would like to take it up again, please contact David via the link above. Snooker is slowly losing its image as a bastion of male exclusivity.
We play snooker in pairs, threesomes or foursomes, depending on table availability. The standard is somewhat lower than the World Championship right now but most members still have high hopes of making a century break(!) or even a 30 break! Well, we can all dream and keep trying.
The Snooker group is looking for 1 or 2 new members. We would like people who have played snooker to a reasonable level in the past and are cognisant of the rules of snooker. One or two of us sometimes play Billiards as well. There is a small charge for the use of the tables and small annual membership fee to the Olympic centre as well.
